I am very lucky that my office is based next to the River Medway, and a lunchtime stroll is always irresistible!!
Most days I am greeted by a Kingfisher, sometimes 2, flashing past! Occasionally thought they allow closer views, I am still yet to capture a decent photo. Their numbers appear to be expanding after their drop in recent colder winters; I have heard a lot more reports and records this year of this magical bird.
Yesterday there was a large influx of Meadow Pipits feeding along the exposed silt line at low tide, energetically chasing insects. In addition the hedgerows were alive with Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps, plus roving tit flocks were making good use of these wildlife corridors.
I wonder what I will find today! . . .
