Identifying Britain’s Birds Online Classes

During a series of evening classes, learn how to confidently identify Britain’s birds by sight and sound, or add to your knowledge with lots of hints and tips.

Enjoy evening presentations using high quality images and sound.  Species will be compared and identified by plumage, size, shape, and sound as we discover Britain’s birds. 

The titles below are to be used as a guide only, and sessions will merge into one another dependent skill levels and discussion in the group.

Class 1: Introduction to bird identification and beginning with wildfowl.

Class 2: Waterbirds

Class 3: Gulls & Terns

Class 4: Waders

Class 5: Gamebirds & Raptors

Class 6: Little Brown Jobs

By the end of the course it is expected that you will have:

  • Gained confidence in identifying Britain’s birds.
  • Learned new skills to help identify Britain’s birds.
  • Gained an understanding of the birding year and when is the best time to see certain species.

It is suitable for beginners and improvers.

To confirm, the final dates for this course are now as follows:

  • Class 1 – 22 March
  • Class 2 – 29 March
  • Class 3 – 5 April
  • Class 4 – 12 April
  • Class 5 – 26 April
  • Class 6 – 3 May

The course leader has agreed to take extra people on his course, so we have tickets available for the remaining 5 weeks of the course, starting next week.
